January 31 The UN Security Council votes to allow Iran and the Soviet Union to settle their dispute by direct negotiation where the will find a solution to the problem concerning soviet troops being present in Iran ( the soviet union now tells the other members of the Security Council that its is correct in not leaving Iran as the independent Republic of Mahabad has declared their independence and is receiving aid from the central alliance and that the struggle witch it is fighting against the Germans is spreading and therefore it needs to protect its interest plus the soviet union fears that if it leaves Iran it will side with Germany as the Shah of Iran Reza Shah Pahlavi is known to harbor pro-German sympathies ).

December 15 Great Britain, the United States and the Soviet Union all break off diplomatic relations with the Yugoslav government in exile and recognize Tito's Communist Popular Liberation Committee as the Yugoslav government to be even if its being chance around by axis forces in the Balkans. US troops land on New Britain near Cape Gloucester, to the South West of Rabaul. Operation cutter, an American-Australian amphibious assault on the Japanese Army at daru new guinea with the intend to cut of Japanese supply towards kerema and to get full control of the gulf of Papua ( the landing is to form a defensive perimeter and to hamper any Japanese naval forces that try to get in to the gulf of Papua ).

December 22 The allies announce that Tito is to be the allied commander in Yugoslavia as his partisans are now estimated at 125,000 men ( tito has a large forces but because of Italy was never invaded and the war in north Africa was not fought long his partisans are have in size du to heavy German and axis forces controlling the Balkans).
December 24 Sir Henry Maitland Wilson is made Supreme Commander in the Mediterranean and orders the bombing of Italy to increase. The Luftwaffe raids Exeter in the first of Hitler's retaliatory raids ,a second raid employing 91 aircraft is made against Rostock. 350 allied bombers hit the Japanese hold port Mosby while US and Australian naval ships are beginning to blockade and shell Japanese positions in the city.
December 26 German forces of Army Group Centre evacuate Gomel in Byelorussia towards their panther line. US Marines make further landings on New Britain, either side of Cape Gloucester heavy fighting reported with Japanese defenders have dig them self in and some units make kamikaze attacks at the us forces hampering the us advances ( the Japanese command put many more troops on new Britain as it protect the flank of new guinea and the Bismarck sea and is part of the emperor line where now more troops are located then there where in otl even despite Japan lack of many transports Japan is placing as many soldiers on the islands as the can ).
December 30 of the 15,000 Japanese defenders at port Mosby only 7,700 are still alive with the city burning and laying in ruins and after 3 air attacks against the port the Japanese’s still refuse to give up the city even if the are isolated from the outside world with more then 2 allied divisions surrounding and pounding their positions daily while new troops now move in the srengting the new guinea force who after battling its way to the jungle is almost 5 miles from the city of kerema ( the Japanese at port Mosby begin to run out of food and with the constant bombardments and shelling from the allied forces the are almost and the end, the US begins to feel the effect of the Japanese die hard mentality and are now begin to focus on a new tactic instead of attacking the citys hold by the Japanese on new guinea the are going if possible bypass them and let the air force bomb them out and surround them until the surrender or are completely destroyed while also clearing in of new guinea that Australia is no more in danger of being bomb and continue the advance when the Bismarck sea is in allied hands giving them control of isolating 100,000 Japanese instead of battling themselves tro the jungle ).
