Kingdom of the Netherlands : a alternate star trek timeline

This is part 1 of a new timeline I am working on which is based in an alternate Star Trek universe.
 

1934

While observing a another alternate earth , Q a almighty being decides to change it , having already sent the Galaxy class starship USS Yamato (1) to a another dimension and gave it to the Japanese empire of that earth he decides that this time he will send a starship and give it to a nation who is not that powerful.

First he has to seek a starship that he can send back , after thinking for a couple of seconds he comes up whit the perfect starships for this, using his fast powers zaps himself to the USS Amsterdam (2 a Galaxy class starship orbiting near the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, Mars in the year 2373.

Now having found the ship he needs for the job, he begins to think about the right person to run it, after going true the persons of the nation he wants to give it, he comes up whit the right person.

Whit one snap he and the USS Amsterdam disappear heading to another dimension and another earth.

What appears to be seconds for the USS Amsterdam is really a inter dimension time travel spanning almost 440 years.

Whit no damage the USS Amsterdam appears in orbit of the new planet earth, the second thing Q dos is zapping the person he wants from his office to the bridge of the USS Amsterdam.

This person is kapitein-luitenant ter zee ( commander) Karel Doorman officer in the royal Netherlands navy , whit commander Doorman know present Q appears and explains to commander Doorman that he has been chosen to command the starship USS Amsterdam and to help him in this job he will be given all the knowledge to operate the ship and it system.

After only 4 minutes Q disappears, leaving commander Doorman alone onboard the USS Amsterdam, will standing onboard what he know is the bridge, commander Doorman pinches himself in order to check if he is not dreaming, after conforming that he is not dreaming when he feels pain he decides to conform that he is still in the year that he was before being zapped onboard this starship.

So his first act as captain of the USS Amsterdam is asking the onboard computer what the current year is , the computer responds June 27th 1934.

Now knowing that it’s all real and he is still in the year 1934, Commander Doorman decides that this situation is more then he can handle, so after thinking he decides to go to the transport room and beam somebody up who he knows he can trust and can help him.

After walking towards the nearest transport room he first has to find coordinates where the chief of naval staff is , the person he is planning to beam up , knowing it Tuesday and still early in the morning he narrows it down to the naval headquarters in Den Helder , after getting the fix on he engages and seconds later a bewildered commander of the royal Netherlands navy is standing on the transport pad.

The high ranking chief of naval staff and also the minister of navy vice-admiral Janssen is not at first happy that he is beamed up to a strange please wile during a meeting , but after seeing commander Doorman and latter getting a explanation he begins to calm down.

After a hour of talking en walking true the corridors of the USS Amsterdam, vice-admiral Janssen a man who is struggling to keep the royal Netherlands navy a strong force in times that cutbacks a more normal then an exception begins to believe that the USS Amsterdam might be the answer the Kingdom of the Netherlands needs to remain a strong country.

So after being escorted back to the transporter room and bin given a combadge by commander Doorman , vice-admiral Janssen beams down to the naval headquarters leaving commander Doorman alone to explore the newest addition to the royal Netherlands navy.

Part 45 1948

January 1 The chief of the army general staff and minister of army, inform prime minister Yoshijiro Umezu, that the consider surrendering a possibility, only when the emperor is allowed to remain, prime minister Yoshijiro Umezu tells him that he does not know if that will happen, but surrendering is the only thing left to do.

January 2 A reply for unconditional surrender is handed to the Swiss Foreign Minister by the Japanese minister in Berne, Switzerland.

January 3 President Truman calls a press conference, announcing the ‘Unconditional Surrender' of Japan’.

Japanese military junta end the house arrest for former prime minister Yamamoto , so that he can lead the intermit government, he immediately orders a Japanese surrender delegation to head toward Manila in the Philippines.

January 4 Great Britain grants independence to Burma, whit the republic of Burma also becoming a member of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Whit prime minister Yamamoto, working to surrender the Japanese empire to the Allies, emperor Hirohito issues a radio broadcast announcing Japan's unconditional surrender, and orders all Japanese forces to cease fire (this broadcast is something emperor Hirohito wanted to do on march 10th 1947, but the coup happen and he was placed under house arrest, preventing him to make this radio address).

January 5 Victory over Japan is celebrated worldwide.

January 6 Second radio address by emperor Hirohito happens, and informs the people that the empire of Japan is accepting the Belfast Declaration, and that a Japanese surrender delegation is under way to the Philippines.

January 7 Japanese surrender delegation arrives in Manila for discussion with General MacArthur and his staff.

January 8 Negotiations in Manila, between the Japanese surrender delegation and General MacArthur and his staff contusions, General MacArthur mentions to the media, that the first US troops are able to land on the Japanese mainland within 10 days of signing the surrender.

January 9 The Japanese surrender delegation in Manila announce that the first US landings will be on January 27th.

January 10 General MacArthur says the surrender will be signed in the Tokyo area on January 31st.

January 11 The Japanese news agency says that all Japanese troops are to be out of the US landing area by January 23rd.

January 12 After two weeks of diplomatic negations, all 13 direct participant nations in the Portuguese capitol of Lisbon, agree that the signing of the peace accord by all 13 head of states will happen on February 12th, a month after this day.

January 17 Netherlands decides to continuing its cease fire against the free Indonesian movement in the Netherlands East Indies, as the Dutch cabinet appointed committee continues working on a plan for an independent Netherlands East Indies before 1951 and the separation of Netherlands of New Guinea who the Netherlands wants to keep.

January 18 The US navy request, from the French, Netherlands, Australian and New Zeeland navy’s, which naval ships, they will send, to the signing of the Japanese instrument of surrender, on January 31st, in Tokyo bay.

January 19 Whit the empire of Japan out of the way, hostilities between Chinese nationalists and Chinese communists break into the open, as reports of heavy clashes between the Chinese liberation army and the republic of China army begin to happen (the national revolutionary army was renamed as the republic of China armed forces after the Chinese communists left the national revolutionary army on January 11th 1947).

Lieutenant colonel Kim Il-sung, commander of the Korean volunteer army arrives in in the city of Heijō, where the Soviet 35th red banner army and the Soviet military authority in Korea (SMAK) have their headquarters, and which is the place where, Lieutenant colonel Kim Il-sung, is to establish the Korean Provisional People's government.

January 20 The Royal Netherlands Navy decides to send Tromp-class cruiser HNLMS Jacob van Heemskerck, Admiralen-class destroyer HNLMS Kortenaer and N-class destroyer HMNLS Van Galen, to the signing of the Japanese instrument of surrender (all of them are part of the Netherlands East Indies Squadron operating in the Netherlands East Indies).

January 21 The French announce that they are sending the carrier La Fayette, cruiser, Jean de Vienne, battleship, Richelieu and two destroyers who are assigned to the French Indian Ocean Fleet, to the Japanese instrument of surrender, on January 31st.

January 22 British foreign secretary Bevin proposes the formation of a western union between Great Britain, France and the Benelux countries to stand up against the German empire and the central alliance.

January 27 First US marines and troops belonging to the 17th airborne division land in Tokyo Bay.

January 28 Elements of the 11th airborne division lands at Atsugi airfield and the 8th marine regiment of the 2nd marine division lands at Kurihama naval base at Yokosuka.

January 29 Lead by Iowa-class battleship USS Wisconsin, the 4th marine division lands on the southern coast of Kanagawa ,southern Kantō region of Honshū, ,Japan

January 30 Mahatma Gandhi, India spiritual and political leader, is assassinated by a Hindu extremist in New Delhi, at the age of 78.

The first Winter Olympics open in St. Moritz, Switzerland sins the end of the western war in Europe almost three years ago (only 19 nations compete in St. Moritz, as neither the members of the central alliance nor the Soviet Union and here allies have decided to send their athletes to the games ).

January 31 The German Empire begins to jam the voice of free Europe broadcasts, which are being broadcast from the Netherlands and the French republic, as according to the German government, the voice of free Europe is being used for propaganda against the German Empire.

American General Douglas MacArthur signs the document listing the terms of Japan's surrender, on the American battleship USS Wisconsin, in Tokyo Bay.

Part 44 1947

September to December 1947

December 2 More then 60 Pe-8 heavy bombers belonging to the Soviet 9th air army make the first Soviet air attack against the Japanese home island when the drop their bombs on the city of Sapporo located on the island of Hokkaidō ( the Soviet 9th air army is attached to the Soviet far eastern front ).

September 3 German crown prince Louis Ferdinand arrives in the Spanish province of Valencia where he is going to observe the Spanish ,German and Italian military exercise which is now in entering its 10th day.

September 4 Escorted by 1 destroyer, 8 patrol vessels, 7 minesweepers, 6 patrol boats, 18 torpedo boats, 6 landing vessels, 4 transport vessels and protected by 300 fighters and bombers a recon detachment belonging to the Soviet 355th separate marine battalion and a infantry company belonging to the Korean volunteer army land in the Japanese port city of Seishin where the face a garrison of some 3,000 Japanese soldiers.

September 5 Second landings by the Soviets against the Japanese held port city of Seishin ( Ch'ŏngjin ) as the remaining troops belonging to the Soviet 355th separate marine battalion ,13th Marine Brigade and the 2nd battalion of the Korean volunteer army reinforce the first landing wave who have captured some part of the city the previous day.

September 8 The city of Dairen near the besieged city of port Arthur is taken by Soviet naval infantry landing parties who where transported by 34 GST flying boats taking of from Sukhodol airport near Vladivostok ( the GST flying boat is a Soviet version of the US designed PBY Catalina flying boat ).

September 9 Forced to wait as supply lines are unavailable , the Soviet-Manchuria front is forced to halt at the border of Yalu River ( border whit Japanese Korea ) , only one large army has crossed the Tumen river and is already in Japanese Korea and that is the Soviet 35th red banner army.

September 10 In Belgrade the former leader of the Yugoslavian resistance movement , marshal Tito is executed by a firing squad made of soldiers belonging to the Serbian state guard.

September 11 The Soviet 56th rifle corps begins the invasion of South Sakhalin where the face the Japanese 88th infantry division ( the Soviet 56th rifle corps has a strength of 20,000 men wile the Japanese 88th infantry division deployed on the Japanese part of the Sakhalin island has a strength of 2,000 men and some 10,000 poorly trained military veterans serving as reservists ore civil volunteer defenders ).

September 12 After eight days of battling house to house and supported by naval artillery from the Soviet pacific fleet and more then 800 air sorties flown by the Soviet naval air service the fight for the port city of Seishin is over as the Soviet and their Korean volunteer army allies take control of a ruin city.

September 13 Still waiting until the supply lines become available again and whit the news that the Chinese liberation army 2nd group army is reassigned to the be uses as a security force in Manchuria and will fall under the command of the Soviet-Chinese headquarters who has establish its headquarters in the former Manchurian capital of Xining.

September 16 The next invasion by the Soviet Union begins as 2 coast guards ships , 1mine layer , 4 minesweepers , 17 transports and 16 special landing vessels carrying nearly 9,000 sailors, soldiers and officers begin landing operations on Shumushu island against fierce opposition from the Japanese Defenders , but are able to establish a beachhead successfully.

September 17 Wile the Soviets are battling on the island of Shumushu island , elements of the Soviet 87th rifle corps and navy elements begin invading Shimushiro island , Kunashir, Shikotan and five smaller islands Sibotzu, Taraku-Shima, Uri-Shima, Akiuri, and Suiseto , all of them belonging to the Kuril islands.

September 18 The United States army air force together whit some components of the United States navy's air arm becomes the United States air force ( this happens on the same date as in OTL ).

September 19 After having waited more then ten days and having the 5th red banner army which is redeployed from the Soviet far eastern front and the placing of the Soviet 35th red banner army under its command the commander of the Soviet-Manchuria front army general Maksim Purkayev decides that he has enough forces to crush the Japanese in Korea.

September 20 In the republic of Syria the French 1st Foreign Regiment is replaced by the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment who will take over its role in teaching and assisting the Syrian army which has a strength of two brigades which are the 1st brigade ( two infantry battalions and one armored battalion ) and the 2nd brigade ( two infantry battalions and one armored vehicle battalion , most of the equipment the Syrian army is using is supplied by the French who are donating much of their older hardware to the Syrian army as the are supplied by the British and United States and don’t need them as much of it is pre 1940 designed ).
In the early hours of September 20th , the battle for Yalu river and the main invasion of Japanese Korea begins as a massive bombardment by several hundred artillery pieces and Katyushas , attack Japanese positions on the other side of the river followed shortly by tank and infantry crossing the river , in Japanese Korea the Soviet 35th red banner army is reaching towards Wonsan.

September 23 After many battles the island of Shumushu is taken by the Soviets who despite suffering heavy loses are able to get reinforcements onto the island , wile also having fire support of the Soviet pacific fleet and air cover available to them something the Japanese defenders on the island don’t have as the imperial navy is destroyed and the few aircraft the have are back home defending the home islands.

September 24 The Soviet-Manchuria front reaches the outskirts of Pyongyang where the Japanese 63rd infantry division and the 17th tank regiment belonging to the 3rd armored division have dig them self in.

September 25 The Soviets capture the southern part of Sakhalin suffering only 2,000 death ore wounded , in the battle of Pyongyang the soldiers belonging to the Soviet-Manchuria front have entered the city wile the Soviet 35th red banner army has captured Wonsan.

September 29 General lieutenant N.D. Zakhvataev commander of the Soviet 35th red banner army declares the city of Pyongyang liberated despite the fact that Soviet soldiers are still engaged in house to house combat in some areas of the city.

September 30 The nations of Pakistan and Yemen join the United Nations.

October 4 The remaining Japanese garrisons on the Kuril islands surrender ore are defeated by Soviet forces.

October 25 The Japanese garrison in Port Arthur surrenders after a siege of forty-eight days , a famous picture is taken that day when soldiers belonging to the Soviet-Manchuria front hoist a flag of the Soviet Union over Port Arthur fortress ( whit the capture of Port Arthur all of the state of Manchuria is under the control of the Soviet Union ).

November 2 The Hughes H-4 Hercules ore also known as the Spruce Goose is flown by Howard Hughes , the large heavy transport aircraft designed and built by the Hughes aircraft company is the largest flying boat ever built , Howard Hughes the builder and designer during a interview on its main flight hopes that Hughes H-4 Hercules will enter into service whit the US navy.

November 3 Whit more firepower available then the Japanese defenders who only got 20,000 soldiers to protect the city of Seoul ( remains of two infantry divisions and the 3rd armored division ,) the 45th rifle corps and 65th rifle corps belonging to the Soviet 5th red banner army and their supporting brigades and regiments fight their way into the city center and mange to capture it.

November 4 Whit the fall of Seoul and the destruction of the last major Japanese force belonging to the Japanese 17th area army , no large Japanese force remain on the Korean peninsula and whit it the Soviet-Manchuria front can occupy the rest of the peninsula whit out much opposition.

November 5 Another over flight by two F-7Bs belonging to the USAF eleventh air force is made and this time they fly over Shumushu island before two La-7 Fighters intercept them and force them away.

November 6 In the early morning a USAF B-29 bomber drops a atom bomb on the Japanese city of Sapporo on the island of Hokkaidō is hit resulting in the deaths of 44,061 people , the city of Sapporo who was recently by the Soviet air force is completely destroyed as the result of the atomic blast.

November 9 The Soviet ambassador to the United states makes a formal protest to secretary of state Marshall in Washington DC about the USAF over flights of Soviet territory and ads that the Soviet Union has the right to defend its self if more over flights happen , secretary of state Marshall responds that the Kuril islands are not Soviet territory but are only occupied by the Soviet Union , and that any attack against USAF aircraft might hamper their relations.

November 17 In the port of Genoa the second Italian aircraft carrier is commissioned by princess Yolanda of Savoy who is the sister of king of Italy Umberto II , the carrier which is named RN Alcon can handle 40 naval versions of the Reggiane RE.2005 fighters and is the second aircraft carrier in service whit the Italian royal navy ( a third new carrier is also being build and will be named RN Corvine when she is completed in late 1949 ).

November 18 The new politburo decides not to launch any more operations against the Japanese empire as the have achieve all objections.

December 9 Last of the Zerstörer class 1934A is sold to Argentina and whit it SMS Z10 Hans Lody becomes ARA Rosales ( whit this the last destroyer is handed over to Argentine who now has bought three 1934A class destroyers and twelve Type IXC/40 U-boats ore known in Argentina as the San Pedro class submarine ).

December 12 The imperial Iranian army backed by the US military Iran advisory group takes back power in Azerbaijan province.

December 16 The Soviet military authority in Korea ( SMAK ) is establish whit its headquarters in the city of Heijō and the Soviet 35th red banner army being the garrison force for the country , the Soviet-Manchuria front is disbanded whit its army’s being resolved back into the Soviet far eastern front ore being sent to Manchuria.

December 24 Operation Bastille ends and is considered by the French supreme command a French tactical victory even if the operation failed to capture any high ranking Vietnamese leaders , more then 9,000 Viet Minh where killed ore wounded in the operation.

December 28 Former Italian king Victor Emmanuel III passes away in his private residency in Rome.

December 29 Japanese prime minister Yoshijiro Umezu inside the safety of the Matsushiro underground imperial headquarters meets whit former prime minister Yamamoto and emperor Hirohito who are under house arrest to get advise from them now that both Manchuria , Kuril and South Sakhalin islands have fallen under Soviet control , both former prime minister Yamamoto and emperor Hirohito beg prime minister Yoshijiro Umezu to surrender to the Americans as the now that only the islands of Hokkaidō , Honshū , Shikoku and Kyūshū are left of the Japanese empire and that the empire has nothing left to defend it self and a large part of the home islands left are already devastate by the massive US bombing campaign , prime minister Yoshijiro Umezu tells them that he will discuses it whit the chief of the army general staff and minister of army.

December 30 In the Portuguese capitol of Lisbon the peace talks between the Soviets and the Germans come to a end and whit it only the signing of the peace accord by the head of states of all 13 direct participant nations has to be done , now only the date for the signing has to be arranged and until then in order to prevent panic in the eastern region of Europe from braking out the details of the Lisbon peace accord will remain secret until the day of the signing.
Prime minister Yoshijiro Umezu speaks whit the chief of the army general staff and minister of army whit who he rules the remaining territory that makes op the Japanese empire , he tells them that whit the Soviets now controlling vital areas the empire al all considerations has lost the war more then the already have , he fears that the Soviet Union now will invade the home islands and that the Empire has no means to defend it self as it has no navy , air force to defend it and the imperial army in all battles has bin swept away if the where nothing by the Soviets , he also add that whit more then 58 city’s completely destroyed ( including A-bombs ) , infrastructure none exciting and more then 10 to 20,000 citizens dying of starvation ore other causes each day , the time has come to surrender unconditional and to accept the Belfast Declaration , the responds by both the chief of the army general staff and minister of army is that the will think about it and will give him their reply in 24 hours about what to do.

Part 43 1947

Augustus 2 The US 3rd marine division and Australian 9th division continuo their battle towards the charred ruins of the central district of the town of Rabaul where a couple of thousands Japanese defenders are still fighting from the ruins of the town.

August 5 Ordered by the Netherlands prime minister all military actions against the free Indonesian movement in the Netherlands East Indies are to stop immediately as a Dutch cabinet appointed committee begins working on a plan for a independent Netherlands East Indies before 1951 and the separation of Netherlands of New Guinea who the Netherlands wants to keep.

August 11 From its garrison in the city of Augsburg in the German empire the Reichsheer 17th Panzer division and the 504th German heavy tank battalion leave towards the Italian kingdom of Italy port of Genoa where the will embark transport ships who will bring them to the Spanish state where the will conduct a two week exercise whit the Spanish Brunete armored division.
Escorted by several escorted fighters a USAAF B-29 bomber drops a 12 kiloton atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Kyoto killing tens of thousands of people.

Augusts 12 After fourteen days fighting in and around the town of Rabaul , the town is finally in American and Australian hands as the last several hundred Japanese defenders commit suicide ore die in a kamikaze attack against the American and Australian rather than surrendering to them.
A day after the destruction of Kyoto , Japanese prime minister Yoshijiro Umezu inside the safety of the Matsushiro underground imperial headquarters signs the excachution order for 3,000 US prisoners of war ( the Matsushiro underground imperial headquarters is a part of a complex which is spread underneath several mountains whit facilities for the imperial general headquarters , imperial resident and other important installations needed for the Japanese government to rule their country , in one of the facility’s former prime minister Yamamoto is held wile in the imperial resident emperor Hirohito and his family are living ).

July 2 In the city of Surabaya in the Netherlands East Indies a small group of people belonging to the free Indonesian movement storm a hotel in the city and rip the blue part of the Dutch flag changing it into Indonesian flag , however the Dutch East Indies home guard and elements of the 2nd KNIL Division present in the city quickly respond and enter the hotel which results in a gun fire erupting , several hours later bombs begin to explode in the city and small armed groups belonging to the free Indonesian movement begin attacking targets in the city.

July 6 The negotiations in the Portuguese capitol of Lisbon continuo , as the 13 direct participant nations involved work steadily for a permanent and lasting peace deal for east Europe , the situation on the east front is also calm as both the German empire and the Soviet Union are focusing towards other areas ( the German empire is focus much of its attention towards rebuilding and the Soviet Union in the upcoming war offensive against the state of Manchuria ). July 27 More then 37,583 Americans, English, Australians, Netherlands and New Zealanders held in POW camps in the empire of Japan are informed that from now on 3,000 of them will be executed each time a A-bomb is used against the empire of Japan ( the 3,000 figure is a increase over the previous 500 who where killed each time a A-bomb was dropped on a Japanese city ).
Prime minister Mussolini allows the international media to speak whit the refuge leaders in the refugee camp who made it clear to the delegation from the United Nations special committee on Palestine that the would rejecting any alternative destinations except Palestine.

July 29 The Dutch prime minister informs his ministers , that a plan is to be made in which Indonesia is to be given its freedom before 1951 and the separation of Netherlands of New Guinea are to put down , he also informs them that many friendly governments are beginning to put pressure for the Netherlands to give Indonesia its independence ( the friendly governments who are putting up pressures are Australia , United States of America and the United Kingdom ).

July 30 In China the truce between Chinese communists and nationalists is on the verge of breaking down as both sides head towards the resumption of a full blown civil war ( by now china is divided between the Chinese communists and nationalists and only the state of Manchuria is not under the control of either the communists ore nationalists a situation which is likely to change soon as the Soviet union and the Chinese communists are almost ready to begin the invasion of the Japanese puppet state ).
