Part 32 1946

September 2 After some intense moments the Japanese battleship IJN Hyūga arrives at Riojun naval base without being attacked , arriving at the naval base its crew spots the carrier IJN Hosho and one of the three cruiser the Japanese imperial navy still poses the IJN Kitakami.

September 5 The cruiser HNLMS De Ruyter arrives at Dutch naval base of Den Helder carrying the body of rear-admiral Doorman , the cruiser HNLMS De Ruyter who was the flagship of rear-admiral Doorman during many battles will remain in the Netherlands for a major overhaul wile the cruiser HNLMS Jacob van Heemskerck will take its place as the flagship of the Dutch East Indies Squadron.

September 6 After eight days of talking in Stockholm the United States one of the two mediators in the conference suggests to pause the discussion to give the diplomats of the 13 nations involved the change to talk to their governments with all nations accepting this suggestion. In Riojun naval base seven warships of the imperial Japanese Navy begin operation divine defense which is the largest kamikaze mission any of the imperial Japanese forces have undertake sins the war started in 1941 ( the order of battle are the battleship IJN Hyūga , the carrier IJN Hosho which is modified to carry ten Ohka manned rockets form two installed catapults , the cruiser IJN Kitakami which is modified as a Kaiten carrier , four of the twenty reaming destroyers still in service and a hundred land-based bombers of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service , operation divine defense goal is hitting the airfields on Okinawa and the US navy operating out of Okinawa and is a Imperial Japanese Navy operation only with the Imperial Japanese Army left out of it ).

September 7 A month after the singing of the Mediterranean sea defense agreement between the US , French republic and the UK the first destroyers who will become part of the United States navy Mediterranean squadron arrive at the their new base of Toulon where the will join the French and British navy’s in patrolling the Mediterranean sea ( the third carrier the French navy is to receive under the Mediterranean sea defense agreement is a Casablanca class escort aircraft carrier formerly the USS Tripoli which is to be named La Fayette which is already being prepared in a US shipyard ).

September 8 The Japanese taskforce is spotted by a US submarine patrolling the East China Sea but is unable to engage the taskforce but dose manages to notify the US fleet by radio.

September 9 A state funeral is held for rear-admiral Doorman in Amsterdam in the Nieuwe Kerk/New Church which is attended by queen Wilhelmina , prime minister Willem Drees and many other delegates both from the Netherlands and abroad.
USAAF and US navy aircraft based out of the US occupied island of Okinawa begin their search of the reported Japanese taskforce and latter in the day two US navy PBY Catalina flying boats detect the taskforce and report its position to the US armed forces commander based out of Okinawa who orders ship and carrier part of taskforce 38 patrolling the area and the USAAF and US navy forces based on Okinawa to engage it.

September 10 After a four day pause the second round of the Stockholm conference begins. Four Essex I and II class carriers including USS Bunker Hill , USS Leyte , USS Iwo Jima and USS Hancock some escorts carriers begin their attack against the Japanese taskforce which now has managed to get close to Okinawa , in the battle that will several hours wave after wave of US carrier born aircraft and land base aircraft attack the Japanese taskforce focusing their attention mostly on the battleship IJN Hyūga which despite having more many anti-aircraft guns is hit hard and finally sinks after several hours , the 100 land-based bombers of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service begin their attack during the confusion but thanks to radar on the island of Okinawa the are spotted early and are engaged by US land based fighters and carrier born aircraft but several of hundred kamikaze bombers managed to penetrate the US defense and mange to hit some targets on Okinawa , the carrier IJN Hosho manages to launch eight of its ten Ohka rockets before being sunk by the overwhelming fire power at the disposal of the US forces , the eight Ohka manned kamikaze rockets managed to hit a airfield where a large number of B-29 bombers are parked which cost the lives of 59 US personal , the cruiser IJN Kitakami managed to launch all of its eight Kaiten manned torpedoes which sink one destroyer and damaging another anchor near Okinawa before being sunk herself ).

September 11 A day after the results of operation divine defense the results are clear wile the US forces suffered 255 people dead ore wounded the Japanese who where wiped suffered 3,450 dead and only 280 survivors who where picked up by the US navy after the battle , the US who was surprise that the Japanese could make this kind of attack realize the Japanese are still a treat despite a naval blockade and daily bombing raids , outside Tokyo in the bunker used by prime minister Yamamoto and sitting in his small office which he uses to govern the remains of a devastated empire he thinks if it was worth to sacrifice so many lives in order to show the hard liners in the Supreme War Council that he is wiling to make sacrifices to continue a war the empire has long ago lost ( the attack by the Japanese taskforce has caused the most losses to US forces on a single day sins several months and many back home in the United States are wondering why no more A-bombs are dropped on the Japanese home islands in order to end the war ).

September 14 After reviewing naval plan 55 the Oberkommando der Kaiserliche Marine decides to cancel the two Hindenburg class battleships who where to be named Peter Strasser and Hindenburg in favor of building more destroyers , submarines and to modernize its current fleet.

September 16 All across the Dutch control East Indies Royal Marechaussee , Royal Netherlands East Indies Army and Dutch East Indies homeguard soldiers make raids against people linked to the Free Indonesian movement and East Indonesia/Republik Indonesia Timur ( RIT ) in the wake of the Augustus 27 bombing that killed rear-admiral Doorman.
The second round of the Stockholm conference ends with another pause as still no results to turn the cease fire between central alliance nations and the Soviet Union into a permanent peace is made.

September 17 Turkish armed forces backed by the 2nd Turkish front manage to turn the tide against Kurdish forces in north-east Turkey wile the British lead Iraqforce also begins to gain control over south Iraq after Kurdish forces who now have to fight with out support of the Germans ore Italians are forced to surrender much of their territory the gained during the early stages of the uprising ( the Turkish army have moved more of their armed forces previous station at the Turkish front to crush the Kurdish forces in north-east Turkey wile in Iraq the British lead Iraqforce also begins to turn the tide thanks having more troops and the fact the Kurdish forces a running out of forces and ammunition which previous was supplied by the Kurdish forces fighting in north-east Turkey ).

September 19 Sins Augustus 14 more then 13,000 people living in the devastated Finish democratic republic city of Helsinki have bin arrested by Finish state Protection Authority , Finish democratic army and present soviet army and GRU forces who after then end of the retaking of the city and the battle against the now disbanded Helsinki Military and resistance organization are put on trial for crimes against the state , in responds to the failed uprising in Helsinki the Soviet Union has begun to purged the Finish democratic Army and reinstituted political indoctrination in units that have remained loyal to the government also the Soviet Union has begun to increased its troop levels in the republic and by agreement sign by the Otto Ville Kuusinen lead government has bin given more power to act to defend its interest in the Finish democratic republic.

September 21 In Stockholm the third round of the Stockholm conference begins.

September 29 The Stockholm conference ends with all nations involved agreeing that peace is more important then continuing the eastern war and despite the hate that some nations have against each other the cease fire must be maintained ( the Soviet union and the German empire agree to continuo the peace talks , agree for another major conference to be held in a month time , to maintain the current cease fire , to allow recon plans to fly over curtain places to monitor each other troops positions and to remove some of their forces away from the east front to prevent any of them from using cease fire to their advantages ).

September 30 US , Australian and Dutch Indies military end their planning of their newest and biggest operation on New Guinea to date , this operation which will be called Big wheel has the goal to remove all Japanese forces still present in the Australian controlled territory of New Guinea , the Australian administrated territory of Papua and Netherlands New Guinea.
