Part 36 1947

January 5 In Bucharest the ministers of defenses of all central alliance members , Soviet Union , Finish democratic republic and Turkish republic agree to several points concerning military matters on the east front and the Turkish front.
The Chinese delegation after four days in Moscow manages to convince the soviet government that Mao Zedong plan to invade the state of Manchuria will not effect the Soviet–Japanese Neutrality Pact of 1945 as the Soviets will only aid the Chinese communist in invading the state of Manchuria.

January 6 General Lucius D. Clay becomes the new commander of the US forces European theater and the allied force European mainland theatre replacing general Dwight Eisenhower who returns to the United States.

January 7 After talking to their governments all ministers of defenses in Bucharest are allowed to sign the Bucharest agreement ( the Bucharest agreement has several points in it to prevent tensions on the east front from starting ore mistakes being misinterpreted from happening ).

January 9 The headquarter of the French navy decides to extend the deployment of the carrier Arromanches whit the French south Chinese Fleet for another four months in order to allow Arromanches to assist the French Indochina expeditionary corps and to continuo operations against the Japanese hold island of Hainan.

January 10 President Peron of Argentina lands in in Berlin for a four day state visit to the German empire and latter the Spanish state , he is greeted on arrival by the secretary of state and is later schedule to have a state banquet whit kaiser Wilhelm III ( President Peron is the first south American head of state visiting the German empire ).

January 11 Whit the assistance of the Soviet Union now guarantee the communist party of China leader Mao Zedong declares that from this day the new fourth army and the eighth route army are to become the core of the newly created Chinese liberation army (CLA) which now becomes the officially military arm of the communist party of China as the Communist party of China withdraws its forces from the Chinese national revolutionary army ( the new fourth army and the eighth route army names are change to the 1st and 2nd group army and form the main force of a independent army under full control of the communist party of China ).

January 12 Whit operation big wheel now progressing so well in New Guinea the USAAF, RAAF and the RNZAF begin operation Condor dropping massive quantities of bombs on the Japanese held fortress of Rabaul where the remaining Japanese eighth area army still totaling 63,000 soldiers is surrounded by Australian and US army forces ( operation condor is the biggest air attack against sins the bombing of Rabaul in November 1943 ).

January 18 Allied bombers based out of Australia have flown more then 1,000 sorties against the fortress of Rabaul losing only 17 planes in the attack sins the start of operation Condor whit a total 3,500 tons of bombs being dropped ( the Japanese have lost only 43 people in the attacks as the have 700 kilometers of tunnels which contains barracks , hospitals, storage for weapons and munitions , tanks artillery ).

January 21 A USAAF B-29 bomber drops a A-bomb on the Japanese imperial naval base of Kure destroying the second largest naval base of the Japanese imperial navy and killing thousands of people. January 22 A US delegation made op of military officers and diplomats meet whit Hồ Chí Minh in order to ask for a cease fire for the duration that the US armed forces are present in French Indochina as more US forces arrive in French Indochina ports each day for the planed invasion of Hainan island which is now called operation Glacier.
Prime minister Yamamoto in a bunker outside a destroyed and former capitol of Tokyo checks the latest report concerning the destruction of Kure and start to believe the US is aiding the hardliners of the Japanese imperial army who believe that the should lead the nation and carry on the fighting in the name of the emperor and a glorious victory something prime minister Yamamoto knows was gone the day he ordered the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 , now he wonder when the hardliners will make their move as operation divine defense the last major navy attack only delayed their coup and he knows he can not stop the hardliners as the control the only force left that is still strong.

January 24 After 12 days of bombing the fortress of Rabaul no major breakthrough in destroying the underground Japanese tunnels is made when a RAAF officer suggest that grand slam ore tallboy earth quake bombs can penetrate these tunnels , later in the day a message is sent to RAF bomber command in Great Britain whit the request of a large number of grand slam and tallboy bombs to be delivered.

January 27 President Truman speaks whit French president Jules Auriol where he tells him that the US had spoken whit Hồ Chí Minh leader of the Việt Minh and that the US requested a cease fire for the duration of the US armed forces presence in French Indochina which Hồ Chí Minh agrees whit as long as the cease fire also includes the French forces , president Jules Auriol tells President Truman that this decision will take several days as he has to discuses whit commander of the French Indochina expeditionary corps general Jean-Étienne Valluy and head of the French Indochina colonial government Georges Thierry d'Argenlieu ( the US wants to focus their attention towards operation Glacier as it fears that the fighting between the Việt Minh and French will effect the February invasion date and therefore the US wants a cease fire in place which it also hopes gives diplomacy a change in bringing the two sides to the negation table ).

January 28 Operation Condor is put on hold until the tallboys and grand slam bombs have bin sent to the allied air force in Australia from Great Britain as non of those are build in Australia ( no plans to launch a ground invasion of the fortress of Rabaul have bin made nor are the planned as the US military believes attacking Rabaul even in this stage would make the Tarawa, Iwo Jima and Okinawa invasion a walkover , the tallboys and grand slam bombs are not biggest bombs the can use as the USAAF as a last resort is wiling to drop a A-bomb on Rabaul if the conventional bombings don’t work in bringing Rabaul under allied control ).
The 1st and 2nd red banner army’s who are part of the Soviet far eastern front which is deployed at the border of state of Manchuria and Japanese Korea receive orders from Moscow to transferred 8 rifle divisions , 3 mechanized division and many supporting regiments to the Chinese liberation army where the will become the 3rd group army under CLA control in preparation of the Chinese communist invasion of the state of Manchuria ( the Soviets now that the Soviet–Japanese Neutrality Pact of 1945 prevents them from invading the state of Manchuria directly as the nation is protected under the treaty and the Soviets don’t want to give the Germans something to think about if the break a treaty now a cease fire and a future peace deal is coming and have decided that several divisions of the Soviet far eastern front will become part of the Chinese liberation army in order to bypass the treaty ).

January 29 In Great Britain the first transport of large numbers of tallboys and grand slam bombs by ship leaves port wile the RAF 617 Squadron also known as the dambusters and 9 squadron who already where deployed out of Okinawa as part of the tiger force are being redeployed to Australia where the will use the tallboys and grand Slam bombs against the Rabaul fortress ( Tiger Force ore also know as VLR bomber force is a British commonwealth long range heavy bomber force deployed out of Okinawa where the used avro Lancaster, avro Lincolns and cconsolidated liberators bombers against targets in the Japanese home islands ).
US navy cruiser USS Duluth , USS Portsmouth , USS Oregon City , USS Cuba , USS Philippines , USS Quincy and 18 destroyers part of the US Fifth Fleet shell for several hours the island of Hainan something that is happening each day and which is increasing as the February invasion date comes closer ).

January 30 French south Chinese fleet cruisers Marseillaise , Suffren and the battleship Richelieu join a US navy taskforce in a eight hour shelling of Hainan island.

Part 35 1946

December 3 From airfields in Australia and from allied control New Guinea bombers and fighters belonging to the USAAF , RAAF and the ML-KNIL pound pockets of Japanese imperial troops who refuse to surrender while US , Australian and Dutch troops continuo their advance as more and more territory of New Guinea comes under allied control sins the start of Operation big wheel almost a month ago.

December 8 Under orders of the French president the new commander of the French Indochina Expeditionary Corps General Jean-Étienne Valluy who has replaced General Maréchal Leclerc declares martial law in French Indochina.

December 11 Early in the morning two USAAF B-29 bombers of the XXI Bomber Command drop each one A-bombs on Tokyo killing 175,000 people in the city ( the US hoped that the two A-bombs would destroy the supreme war council , the imperial general headquarters and any industry still in the city which was not destroyed during the many B-29 bombing raids before the two A-bombs where dropped ).

December 12 A force of 10,000 men under General Vo Nguyen Giap attacks the city of Haiphong who previous was the site of riots which killed 2,000 Vietnamese people in order to show the French the martial law dos not work , but the French Indochina Expeditionary Corps soldiers in the city and French south Chinese Fleet based out of the city react swiftly to the attack.

December 13 A third A-bomb is drop by the USAAF on Tokyo killing several thousands of people two days after two A-bombs where dropped on the city ( the USAAF wanted to demoralize the people still in Tokyo and to show the Japanese empire the can drop A-bombs anywhere anytime whit out much interference from the Imperial Japanese army air force ore the imperial Japanese navy air service can not stop the massive onslaught the USAAF rains down onto Japan ).

December 17 The battle of Haiphong is won by the French Indochina expeditionary corps after 5 days of heavy street by street fighting against the Việt Minh who are forced to retreat. Oberstleutnant Skorzeny commander of the Reichsheer Spezialkräfte ( RSK ) is send to the independent state of Serbia where he and a battalion belonging to the RSK are to help the German Armeeabteilung Serbien and the Serbian state force in destroying the partisans.

December 18 I-405 and I-408 are sunk wile trying to get to Truk Lagoon home of the former imperial Japanese navy's combined fleet as the where attempting to bring supplies to a base which despite being isolated by US naval and the USAAF is still under Japanese control as the allies instead of trying to capture the lagoon have instead decided to blockade it ( I-405 and I-408 who like the other remaining I-400-class submarines are used to transport material and personal to places still under control of the Japanese empire but both where was sunk as the US navy patrols the area heavily in order to prevent any Japanese submarine from entering ore leaving the lagoon , whit the sinking of two I-400 subs only I-402 , I-404 , I-405 and I-407 of a force of eight I-400-class submarines remain in service ).

December 19 The Việt Minh is forced to evacuate Hanoi in favor of remote mountain areas whit the French now in control of almost everything except very remote areas in French Indochina.
In Peenemünde home of the German rocket program the first launch of the V-5 rocket fails as it blows on its launch pad whit several high ranking people including Dr Wernher von Braun and crown prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia watching it happen.

Two days before the Bucharest conference prime minister Mussolini of Italy announces that he is redrawing the Armata Italiana in Russia from the east front ( whit the disbanding of the Armata Italiana in Russia more then 250,000 soldiers are returning home whit more then 53,000 dead ore wounded sins 1941 when Italy began to operate on the east front, the Italienischen Panzer-Armee is to remain on the east front and becomes the largest Italian contribution to the eastern war despite the current cease fire whit the Corpo di Spedizione Italiano in occupied Turkey also remaining at it current place ).

December 28 Chiang Kai-shek decision not to use the full Chinese national revolutionary army in the invasion of the state of Manchuria falls bad whit Mao Zedong leader of the communist party of China who decides that if the nationalist wont help him in the invasion of state of Manchuria then the Soviet Union might as he know that the control of the still extensive Manchurian industrial base will be a asset when the communists finished the Chinese civil war that started in 1927 but was put on hold in 1937 to fight the Japanese in their favor.

On the second day of the Bucharest conference the Spanish minister of defense informers the ministers of defenses that the Spanish state is disbanding the Spanish Expeditionary Corps Russia ( the Spanish who from 1941 had some kind of military presence on the east front suffered more then 7,854 dead, and 17,400 wounded whit more then 442 taken prisoners by Soviet forces ).
