Part 35 1946

December 3 From airfields in Australia and from allied control New Guinea bombers and fighters belonging to the USAAF , RAAF and the ML-KNIL pound pockets of Japanese imperial troops who refuse to surrender while US , Australian and Dutch troops continuo their advance as more and more territory of New Guinea comes under allied control sins the start of Operation big wheel almost a month ago.

December 8 Under orders of the French president the new commander of the French Indochina Expeditionary Corps General Jean-Étienne Valluy who has replaced General Maréchal Leclerc declares martial law in French Indochina.

December 11 Early in the morning two USAAF B-29 bombers of the XXI Bomber Command drop each one A-bombs on Tokyo killing 175,000 people in the city ( the US hoped that the two A-bombs would destroy the supreme war council , the imperial general headquarters and any industry still in the city which was not destroyed during the many B-29 bombing raids before the two A-bombs where dropped ).

December 12 A force of 10,000 men under General Vo Nguyen Giap attacks the city of Haiphong who previous was the site of riots which killed 2,000 Vietnamese people in order to show the French the martial law dos not work , but the French Indochina Expeditionary Corps soldiers in the city and French south Chinese Fleet based out of the city react swiftly to the attack.

December 13 A third A-bomb is drop by the USAAF on Tokyo killing several thousands of people two days after two A-bombs where dropped on the city ( the USAAF wanted to demoralize the people still in Tokyo and to show the Japanese empire the can drop A-bombs anywhere anytime whit out much interference from the Imperial Japanese army air force ore the imperial Japanese navy air service can not stop the massive onslaught the USAAF rains down onto Japan ).

December 17 The battle of Haiphong is won by the French Indochina expeditionary corps after 5 days of heavy street by street fighting against the Việt Minh who are forced to retreat. Oberstleutnant Skorzeny commander of the Reichsheer Spezialkräfte ( RSK ) is send to the independent state of Serbia where he and a battalion belonging to the RSK are to help the German Armeeabteilung Serbien and the Serbian state force in destroying the partisans.

December 18 I-405 and I-408 are sunk wile trying to get to Truk Lagoon home of the former imperial Japanese navy's combined fleet as the where attempting to bring supplies to a base which despite being isolated by US naval and the USAAF is still under Japanese control as the allies instead of trying to capture the lagoon have instead decided to blockade it ( I-405 and I-408 who like the other remaining I-400-class submarines are used to transport material and personal to places still under control of the Japanese empire but both where was sunk as the US navy patrols the area heavily in order to prevent any Japanese submarine from entering ore leaving the lagoon , whit the sinking of two I-400 subs only I-402 , I-404 , I-405 and I-407 of a force of eight I-400-class submarines remain in service ).

December 19 The Việt Minh is forced to evacuate Hanoi in favor of remote mountain areas whit the French now in control of almost everything except very remote areas in French Indochina.
In Peenemünde home of the German rocket program the first launch of the V-5 rocket fails as it blows on its launch pad whit several high ranking people including Dr Wernher von Braun and crown prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia watching it happen.

December 22 The French provisional government accuses the Chinese communist and the Soviet Union of supporting the Việt Minh in their fight against the French as fighting between the French Indochina Expeditionary Corps forces against Vietnamese militias continuous in the countryside of French Indochina , latter the Service de Documentation Extérieure et de Contre-Espionnage gives its American counterpart the Central Intelligence Group (CIG) evidence that the Chinese communist and the Soviet Union are supporting the Việt Minh in their fight against the French ( the Service de Documentation Extérieure et de Contre Espionnage/External Documentation and Counter-Espionage Service has interrogated many prisoners captured during the riot and the battle of Haiphong and other places in French Indochina and came to the conclusion that the Việt Minh receive training and supplies from the Chinese communist who in turn receive weapons and training from the Soviet Union ).

December 25 Operation big wheel continuous as general Hatazō Adachi commander of Japanese 18th army and his chief of staff general Kane Yoshihara are killed in the town of Wamena in Netherlands New Guinea when the 2000 Japanese soldiers present are attack by the US 44th infantry division in the battle 1911 Japanese soldiers are killed ore wounded wile the 44th infantry division only suffers 32 dead ore wounded ( the Japanese 18th army which at its height had a force of 200,000 men is now down to a force of 9,000 soldiers spread across New Guinea ).

December 27 Commander-in-chief of the Chinese national revolutionary army (NRA) Chiang Kai-shek orders that the NRA is not going to invaded the Japanese puppet state of Manchuria leaving the new fourth army and the eighth route army who are part of the national revolutionary army but who are controlled by the communist party of China whit out the needed strength to invade the state of Manchuria ( the new fourth and eighth route army face a still formidable imperial Japanese army belonging to the Kwantung army and the Manchukuo imperial army who still have some 744,000 soldiers deployed in the state of Manchuria ).
Two days before the Bucharest conference prime minister Mussolini of Italy announces that he is redrawing the Armata Italiana in Russia from the east front ( whit the disbanding of the Armata Italiana in Russia more then 250,000 soldiers are returning home whit more then 53,000 dead ore wounded sins 1941 when Italy began to operate on the east front, the Italienischen Panzer-Armee is to remain on the east front and becomes the largest Italian contribution to the eastern war despite the current cease fire whit the Corpo di Spedizione Italiano in occupied Turkey also remaining at it current place ).

December 28 Chiang Kai-shek decision not to use the full Chinese national revolutionary army in the invasion of the state of Manchuria falls bad whit Mao Zedong leader of the communist party of China who decides that if the nationalist wont help him in the invasion of state of Manchuria then the Soviet Union might as he know that the control of the still extensive Manchurian industrial base will be a asset when the communists finished the Chinese civil war that started in 1927 but was put on hold in 1937 to fight the Japanese in their favor.

December 29 In Bucharest the ministers of defenses of all central alliance members , the Soviet Union and the Finish democratic republic and Turkish republic arrive to begin the discussions concerning the military situation on the east front which is to be resolve before the peace talks can begin.

December 31 A delegation belonging to the communist party of China arrives in Moscow on a mission to convince the Soviet Union to help the Chinese communist in their plan for invading the state of Manchuria. On the second day of the Bucharest conference the Spanish minister of defense informers the ministers of defenses that the Spanish state is disbanding the Spanish Expeditionary Corps Russia ( the Spanish who from 1941 had some kind of military presence on the east front suffered more then 7,854 dead, and 17,400 wounded whit more then 442 taken prisoners by Soviet forces ).
