A year has passed sins the appearance of the USS Amsterdam in earth orbit and Commander Doorman being zapped onboard the starship.
In that year both commander Doorman and Vice-admiral Janssen spend a lot of time learning much about the future by reading PADDs and visiting the many holodecks , during one of those visit commander Doorman discovered that he would die in a future naval battle against the Japanese which kind of shock him but also made him more resolved to use the USS Amsterdam for the good of the kingdom.
Vice-admiral Janssen decided early in on that it would be best that no other nation would be involved as the information and technology discovered onboard the ship would result in
So he gathered some people he could trust from the royal Netherlands navy, royal Netherlands army, government officials and people from major companies in the Netherlands like Fokker, Philips, DAF, Schell, Wilton-Fijenoord and the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij.
After many discussions the agreed to form an oversight commission who would guide the Netherlands in the right direction while also forming a new branch of the royal Netherlands armed forces called the royal Netherlands space force/koninklijke nederlandse ruimte dienst.
Whit the oversight commission formed result began to quickly like the USS Amsterdam who would become the flagship of the royal Netherlands space force , commander Doorman would be promoted to rear admiral and become its commander.
The USS Amsterdam would be renamed KNRS Amsterdam and become the flagship of the royal Netherlands space force and the royal Netherlands navy would provide the crew for the starship while the royal Netherlands army would provide its security detail and landings detail.
Also the oversight commission after many long discussions came to the conclusion that war whit Germany or Japan was possible and therefore decided that the Netherlands would begin to rearm as fast as possible and whit all needs available.

The building of four Tromp-class cruisers and eight Gerard Callenburgh-class destroyers who will be build whit technology from the RNSS Amsterdam and information from and should be in service before 1940.
The car manufacturer DAF would build for the royal Netherlands army more than 240 heavily modified M.35 armored cars based on the Landsverk M.39 armored car.
Fokker which was the main aircraft manufacturer in the Netherlands would start building the Fokker G-1 fighter-cruiser, Fokker D-21 mono-wing fighter who would be slightly different that the original in great numbers, Fokker also would begin using the information from both the ship library and the holodecks in designing a fighter capable of handling any adversary in the sky.
And the last thing that was decided was that the naval bases of Den Helder, Soerabaja , Tjilatjap and Parera would be modernized and upgraded.
